Drier conditions expected into the weekend

Rainfall was plentiful over the New Year's Day holiday, but we are drying out heading into the weekend. We picked nearly an inch of rain in many valley cities.

Today we expect skies to remain partly cloudy but dry. Highs through the weekend will be near our seasonal norms. There are some flood concerns lingering, especially in San Diego county where a Flood Advisory remains in effect through this afternoon.

A series of weak low pressure systems will push through the region starting tomorrow morning and linger into the middle of next week. This means a very small chance of scattered showers, but those showers are far more likely near the coast and in our local mountains.

Temps will cool a few degrees, dropping into the middle 60s for much of the week.
