THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) - The Coachella Valley Unified School District provided an update on their mold remediation efforts following comprehensive testing at John Kelley Elementary school.

According to a release sent to News Channel 3 on Friday, the district stated the school was fully tested by Safeguard EnviroGroup, a certified environmental testing firm, to ensure that any findings would be remediated immediately.

The District also stated there were no findings of black mold or airborne mold spores and that areas affected by excessive moisture were remediated by SERVPRO, a licensed and experienced environmental remediation company.

Construction is currently underway to restore the remediated areas, with work focused on ensuring all identified classrooms and spaces are fully completed and ready for the return of students and staff on Monday.
