St. Cloud State wins 2026 Cactus Cup Championship

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) - The St. Cloud State Huskies are the 2026 Cactus Cup Champions.

The Huskies defeated the defending tournament champions, UMass Lowell, 3-2 on Saturday at Acrisure Arena.

St. Cloud State went on a three-goal run from Tyson Gross, Grant Ahcan, and Noah Urness.

The River Hawks scored the final two goals from Josh Mori and Dillian Bentley.

The second game featured the Minnesota State Mavericks, who battled against the Yale Bulldogs for third place.

The Mavericks defeated the Bulldogs 4-3, with goals from Jordan Ronn, Mason LeBel, Alex Zetterberg, and Ean Somoza.

Yale's goal scorers were Donovan Frias, David Chen, and Owen Forester.

On day one, St. Cloud State defeated Yale 6-2, and UMass Lowell defeated Minnesota State 3-1 to clinch their spots in the championship.
