Mild and seasonal to start the week; tracking Halloween rain chances

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It has been a gorgeous Sunday around the Coachella Valley today! Skies have been clear and we've warmed nicely through the 80s! We expect another seasonal start to the week before unsettled weather could reappear later in the week.

If you're heading out for dinner tonight, here's what you can expect: temperatures cool into the 70s around 7 or 8 o'clock. If you're out later this evening, maybe consider an extra layer past midnight.

We'll see another chilly morning on Monday before warming nicely. Expect highs somewhere near the seasonal mark of 88°F tomorrow afternoon.

Highs remain seasonal before a subtle cooldown occurs midweek. We're tracking unsettled weather entering the picture later in the week. That means a more significant cooldown, increasing clouds, winds, and the potential for rain.

Models are uncertain on exact timing and impacts, but early indications show widespread rain potential Saturday night into Sunday. Stick with us as that picture is refined, but keep the rain in mind as a possibility for any Halloween festivities you have planned.
