CVUSD shares more details about mold remediation at elementary school as parents plan protest

KESQ

THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) – It's been about a month since the Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) said mold remediation was complete at John Kelley Elementary School in Thermal.

Tonight, district leaders are taking our crews inside the school to speak with the experts they hired to ensure the safety of students and to see what that remediation work looked like.

News Channel 3 is getting answers for parents to see if there were ever any mold spores in the air – and if it's safe for their children to be in the classroom.

Some parents are still hesitant to trust the findings the district has released. A protest is planned Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. in front of the district's offices for what parents call "horrendous conditions" for students and staff in classrooms. We're bringing you reaction from those parents tonight, as well.

Stay with us for the latest.
