Blades Brown, Scottie Scheffler tied for second trailing Si Woo Kim at the American Express

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KESQ) – Blades Brown continues to stun in the American Express and stays at the top of the leaderboard after three rounds.
Brown, an 18-year-old, shot a 68 on Saturday on the Pete Dye Stadium Course in the third round of the American Express. This comes after he set a course record in tournament history on the Nicklaus Tournament Course Friday, shooting a career-low 60 (12-under).
Now Brown stands tied at second with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler at -21 total. If Brown wins on Sunday, he won't only receive the $1.6 million from the purse, but also becomes the second youngest PGA Tour winner ever.
Scottie Scheffler had his slowest round of the tournament so far at just four-under. He also brought in his first bogey of the tournament on hole three of the Pete Dye Stadium Course. He had one more bogey on 13, but still brought in six birdies.
His final birdie on 18 kept him from third place heading into Sunday's final round. It was a crucial tie with Brown that could make a difference in any winning score.
Scheffler now has 12 straight rounds in the 60s at The American Express.
He is seeking to become first player since Tiger Woods to earn 20 PGA TOUR wins under the age of 30.
Now as Brown and Scheffler share second, Si Woo Kim is in first place. The South Korean professional is ranked No. 42 in the world and is an American Express Champion from 2021. He finished the third round six-under at the La Quinta Country Club and moved to the top at overall 22-under.
