A mild Sunday on the way to round out the weekend

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It looks like another beautiful day in the Coachella Valley as we wrap up the weekend. Highs will likely stay pretty seasonal today, in the upper 60s or low 70s, as clouds look to increase through the day. I expect great weather as we look towards the final day of play at the American Express Golf Tournament in La Quinta.
Temperatures will be cool to start the morning before giving way to more mild temperatures near lunchtime. If you're out at the AMEX today, I'd say you'll be able to ditch any extra layers by then. It really should be great weather to be on the golf course!

Highs will likely top out around 70°, give or take a degree or two depending on how much cloud cover allows for or detracts from today's warming.

Also of note: winds are decreasing throughout much of the day today. A Wind Advisory that was set to expire at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon appears to have been pulled by the National Weather Service early, as of 3:30 a.m.

While northerly winds decrease this afternoon, a shift to more easterly flow will help restrengthen gusts in higher elevations and the passes through at least Tuesday. Wind impacts on the valley floor should be rather minimal.

Highs remain seasonal early this work week before warmer temperatures enter the picture again. We could rebound into the upper 70s again by next weekend!
