Man, 61, arrested for alleged DUI after two-vehicle crash in Rancho Mirage

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) - A 61-year-old man suspected of causing a two-vehicle collision while driving under the influence in Rancho Mirage was behind bars today.
The Cathedral City resident was booked into Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of DUI, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
The crash was reported shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Bob Hope Drive and Highway 111. Upon arrival, deputies found two vehicles with damage.
The driver and a passenger of one vehicle were taken to a hospital in stable condition. The suspect, who was driving of the other vehicle, was taken into custody, Martinez said.
No further information was immediately available pending an investigation.
