Tracking cloudy skies today, sunnier and warmer weather to come

Spencer Blum

It's certainly a bit of a cloudy day here in the Coachella Valley. Despite the upper-level clouds, it remains very dry here at the surface. And it will stay that way over the coming hours. The lack of moisture will allow our temperatures to cool off quite considerably into the low 50s by early tomorrow morning. Winds are calm, and temperatures are quite moderate today. Clearer skies move into the picture during the overnight timeframe.

In the days ahead, high pressure will gradually build over the region. This will bring us both sunnier skies and warmer temperatures as we approach the weekend. Temperatures will rise up to the low 80s by the end of the workweek and then will stay there for several more days thereafter. The weather pattern for the Golden State is overall quite benign. A remarkable difference compared to what many are still facing on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains.

As mentioned before, sunnier skies will return for tomorrow. Warmer afternoon highs will follow along. Expect some more clouds toward the end of the weekend and the beginning of next week, but temperatures look to remain well above average in the low 80s.
