8 patients hospitalized after head-on crash in Mecca, child in critical condition

MECCA, Calif. (KESQ) - 8 people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision in Mecca Wednesday afternoon.

The crash was reported just after 3:30 p.m. on 66th Avenue and Buchanan Street.

Details on the crash remain limited.

Authorities at the scene told News Channel 3 that a child was airlifted to Loma Linda in critical condition. Three other people were transported with injuries ranging from moderate to major. Four people suffered minor injuries.

66th Avenue was briefly closed, but was back open by 5 p.m.
