Tracking a very stable weather pattern
Good afternoon! It is yet another fantastic day here locally in the Coachella Valley. The sun is shining, and there are virtually no clouds to be seen. Temperatures are warm again today, with dry air and mild winds. This is a result of the broad ridge of high pressure over Southern California and the western U.S. This ridge is settling in over the region and will be remarkably stubborn. This means we will have roughly the same conditions, with highs well above the seasonal average for at least the next week.

Compare this to yet another arctic blast impacting the southern states, and the lingering winter weather in many other states, and we have arguably some of the best weather anywhere in the country. Extreme Cold Warnings are in place for most of the deep south, like the Florida Peninsula. There has even been some snow reported as far south as the Florida Panhandle.

As mentioned previously, we are enjoying a stretch of remarkably benign and stable weather that will remain in place for quite some time. Expect highs in the 80s for the next week, with some day-to-day variability. Sunday and Monday will be a bit cloudier, and there is increasing confidence of some breezy conditions around the middle of next week.
