PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) — Both North Indian Canyon Trail and North Gene Autry Trail are closed in Palm Springs due to low visibility.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, northbound Gene Autry Trail is shut down between Salvia Road and Via Escuela.

Both closures were reported shortly after 6 a.m. as visibility dropped to unsafe levels for drivers.

Authorities are urging motorists to avoid these areas and use alternate routes until conditions improve.

Drivers can still use East Vista Chino, Ramon Rd., Dinah Shore or Highway 111 to get in and out of Palm Springs.

There is no estimated time for reopening.
