High school football Week 1 game schedule

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) -- The wait is finally over. High school football returns this week.

The first games of the new season will be played this Thursday and Friday. See the full schedule below. All games are set to start at 7pm, unless changed.

Thursday, August 20

Palm Springs at Hemet
Desert Mirage at Duarte

Friday, August 21

Rancho Mirage at Yucca Valley
29 Palms at DCA
Palm Desert at Brawley
Esperanza at Shadow Hills
San Bernardino at Indio
Xavier Prep at Rim of the World
Desert Hot Springs at Tahquitz
Santa Rosa at Cathedral City

The Best Local Sports Show returns Friday, August 21 and will air LIVE every Friday night throughout the season.
