Banner night: Xavier Prep girls volleyball celebrates fifth consecutive league championship

PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) -- Xavier Prep girls volleyball continues to cement its legacy as one of the Coachella Valley’s premier high school sports programs.

The Saints celebrated their fifth consecutive league championship on Wednesday night by adding "2026" to their program's championship banner.

Xavier Prep accomplished this feat without losing a single league match, extending their win streak to 55 straight league matches, dating back to 2021.

The latest championship was especially meaningful for a team that navigated numerous challenges throughout the season.

Despite adversity, the Saints continued to find ways to win and ultimately celebrated another league title, further solidifying the program’s remarkable run of success.

“It means a lot to us,” Xavier Prep coach Dashner said. “The season's been a really challenging one. We've had so many obstacles.”

Dashner noted that two seniors were unable to participate on senior night, making an already difficult season even more emotional.

“It was a whole team effort this whole season, and I'm just really, really proud of them for digging deep and finding a way always and just really playing for one another,” Dashner said.

Next up for the Saints is the playoffs. Xavier Prep will find out their CIF-SS postseason schedule on Saturday.
