Staying warmer than normal for first half of the week

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – Although warmer than usual, it's been a fantastic day in the valley! Winds have stayed calm and temperatures aren't record-breaking like we saw last year for Pride. We'll continue our above-average temperature trend through midweek ahead of some potential changes next weekend.

Santa Ana winds are continuing to deteriorate. Gusts are not expected to pose any sort of concerns for us tonight; the strongest gusts passed Saturday morning.

Although the Santa Ana winds are weakening, we're still holding onto some weak offshore flow. Pair this with building high pressure over our region and we see our temperatures staying above average, at least through Veterans Day.

Highs on Monday will be a touch cooler than Sunday, but a high near 86°F runs us about 4-5°F above average.

Highs in the mid- to upper-80s continue through Veterans Day. We're eyeing a system that looks to bring cooler and cloudier weather arriving as early as Friday. Rain chances are possible with this system, but models are showing a vast amount of uncertainty. Stay with the Desert's Weather Leader as we track any potential impacts!
