Doctor, accused of sexually assaulting patient, worked at two local medical centers
Dr. Leng Thai Ky, 40, an anesthesiologist with ties to some of our local to medical care facilities, was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a patient in San Diego County, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced on Thursday.
A patient notified police that they were sexually assaulted on March 28.
According to the Escondido Police Department, the patient says Dr. Ky sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious.
EPD detectives say they were eventually able to develop probable cause to arrest Dr. Ky.
EPD and U.S. Marshalls took Dr. Ky into custody on March 30. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County on assault with a deadly weapon, drugging, and multiple sexual assault charges.
Dr. Ky has been a doctor for 8 years and has been associated with the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and the Desert Clinic Pain Institute on Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
