2 teenage boys arrested in connection with Coachella shooting
Two juveniles were taken into custody on Thursday in connection with a shooting in Coachella, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
No one was injured in the incident
At 11:54 a.m., deputies received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of 2nd street and Vine Avenue. A short time later, deputies arrived on scene and found evidence of a shooting.
After gathering evidence on scene, deputies located and detained two suspects, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Coachella, for negligent discharge of a firearm.
According to RSO, witnesses reported seeing two groups exchanging gunfire at the scene, and an older model Toyota Sedan fleeing the scene with additional suspects.
Neighbors told News Channel 3's Dani Romero that they heard gunshots shortly before RSO arrived on scene.
