2 killed, 1 hurt after overnight crash in Palm Springs
Two people killed in a deadly accident in Palm Springs early Saturday morning have been identified.
25-year-old Yesenia Hurtado-Gutierrez, of Coachella, and 21-year-old Daniel Rivera-Acosta, of Palm Desert. were killed following an accident near the area of East Palm Canyon Drive between South Palm Canyon and Via Salida.
Police said they got the call about the crash around 2:07 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Hurtado-Gutierrez and Rivera-Acosta had dead at the scene. The other person involved in the accident was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The roadways were closed about seven hours while officers conducted an investigation. No word on whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
