Local passes for Coachella & Stagecoach on sale through new process

A quick glance down the Coachella pass purchase page isn’t going to yield much hope for would-be concert goers. But if you live somewhere in the Coachella Valley, there’s still a shot; Goldenvoice just announced its annual local resident ticket sale for the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals.

“Residents will be able to submit requests for passes starting March 5th 2018,” reads the Goldenvoice news release. “Order request will be randomly selected and approved based on residency requirements. 1000 festival passes per weekend will be available while supplies last. “

This year’s purchasing process opts out of the in-person waiting process, and for good reason.

“Everyone said that last year [2016] was organized, simple, clean, single file line,” said Yazmin Castillo of Cathedral City “This year, people were crazy, probably because the line-up is so good this year that everyone wants to go. People were throwing down fences…and there was already a fight at 7 a.m.”

The request submission page for the passes requires residents to enter their email, zip code, email address, phone number, and full resident address.

“There will be a 2-pass limit per weekend per resident, while supplies last,” reads the news release. “Resident passes may only be purchased for use by valley residents in the below zip codes and their guest. Proof of residency must be shown in the form of a California driver’s license or ID card at time of pick up. Passes are non-transferable.”

The prime purchasing opportunity will be open to Coachella Valley residents from Mecca to Palm Springs, applying to the following zipcodes: 92201, 92202, 92203, 92210, 92211, 92230, 92234, 92236, 92240, 92241, 92253, 92254, 92255, 92258, 92260, 92261 – 92264, 92270, 92274, 92275, 92276, and 92292.

1000 tickets will be made available for purchase by valley residents for each weekend of Coachella and for Stagecoach during the local sale. Coachella passes run $429 per weekend, while Stagecoach will cost $329 apiece (Stagecoach pass prices are subject to change.) VIP passes for both festivals range from $899-$1,199.
