Indio gang sweep leads to four arrests

Warrant sweeps throughout the city of Indio led to the arrest of four people.

The Indio Police Department and the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force served multiple search warrants in Indio starting Wednesday morning.

Warrants were served in various locations throughout the city. In total, the CVVCGTF seized three firearms, narcotics and arrested four suspects for various crimes.

– Jonhnny Vargas, 32, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and Post Release Community Supervision Violation

– Jackie Hildago, 27, was arrested for possession of a firearm for sale and possession of methamphetamine.

– Matthew Borunda, 30, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, gang member in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia

A 17-year-old male was also arrested for a residential burglary that happened in La Quinta on Feb. 27.
