Free lyft offered for Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo celebrations are just hours away, local businesses are gearing up for the crowds and one is making sure people get to and from their destinations safely.

The Walter Clark Legal Group is helping drivers celebrating the holiday get home safe, partnering with Lyft for free rides.

“DUI and DUI fatalities are on the rise in the state CA. there is actually 1 death every 10 hours in the state of CA,” said David Vassalli, an attorney with the legal group who works directly with DUI-crash victims.

“A DUI fatality or a DUI accident, it’s even more impactful because it could have been prevented. Steps could have been taken from preventing the incident from occurring..which is why we offer the program,” Vassali said.

The free rides will become available at 10 p.m. Saturday night and go until 3 am Sunday. You just enter WCLGMAY5CV into the Lyft app it’s good for one use per person, up to 50 dollars in value.

We’ve been offering the free safe ride home program since 2005 and we estimate thousands of drivers have gotten free safe rides home,” Vassali said.
