A look back at College of the Desert spring athletic season

It was a busy time this spring on the campus of College of the Desert with golf, tennis, baseball, softball, and beach volleyball all in action. KESQ/CBS Local 2’s Cody Krupp takes a look back on a successful few months for the Roadrunners.

– Men’s Tennis: Undefeated in conference to collect the 2018 PCAC title

– Women’s Tennis: 7-7 on the season but an individual and double conference title. Palm Desert High School grad Claudia Stepien was named conference player of the year.

– Men’s Golf: Won a tiebreaker to claim another PCAC Championship

– Baseball: 12-27 on the year but finished with a walk-off in their final home game and Head Coach Chris Walters will now have a full year to recruit for 2019.

– Softball: 9-24 but many local talents shined such as Jada Toland (Shadow Hills), Tatiana Martinez (Coachella Valley, Vanessa Madera (Coachella Valley), Rebecca Alford (Coachella Valley)

– Beach Volleyball: Ashtyn Lyneis (Palm Springs HS) & Nicole Svoboda (La Quinta HS) advance to state championships
