Cathedral City High student completes clumsy, cake-covered prom proposal

Somebody should get this kid a medal for dedication…and a towel. Cathedral City High School student Francisco Vizcaino was sure to make his prom proposal memorable yesterday, getting fairly creative, confectionary, and clumsy in his efforts.

He came up with the idea from something he saw on Facebook last year (no word on if that inspiration kept the cake intact or not) and he immediately knew it would “steal the show”.

The cake was double chocolate, and according to Francisco, someone asked for the leftover cake – probably not the wisest move, kids.

“My prom date [is] my beautiful, lovely, future wife.” Francisco said. “We have been going out for almost 2 years now and hope for many more.”

His prom date, Alexia Gaytan, certainly seemed to go through a whole wheel emotions during throughout the proposal, all while evading hunks of cakes and icing.

Cathedral City High School’s prom is on Saturday; Francisco is planning on wearing a black tuxedo with a burgundy vest, while Alexia will be wearing a black and sparkly dress. For the sake of both of their wardrobes, let’s hope that cake is off the menu for Prom.
