Structure fire displaces six people in Indio

Cal Fire is on the scene of a single-story structure fire on the 83-000 block of Manzanita Avenue in Indio according to April Newman of Cal Fire. The call came in at 1:09 p.m.

When fire crews arrived on the scene the single family dwelling was fully engulfed in flames. Six people were displaced by the fire; the American Red Cross has been requested to assist. No injuries were reported.

Cal Fire has requested help from the Imperial Irrigation District. Indio Police has shut down several nearby roads for the safety of the public. The fire has been contained and firefighters will remain on scene for the next three hours.
