Man makes plea for help in missing mother’s case
“I told her happy mother’s day mom, I love you and she texted back, ‘I love you too mijo,'” said Ernesto Morales, the son of Maria Guadalupe Alvares, who has been missing since 6 AM Monday.

This was the last conversation Morales had with his mother. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department are searching for her after her car was found torched this morning near Box Canyon where Morales said his family used to go camping.
Sheriff’s deputies say they do not suspect foul play but it’s a red flag for Morales.
“I don’t know if it was evidence. I don’t know why she decided to burn it,” Morales said.
Morales said his mom left her cell phone, money, and all her clothes at home, along with a note.
“‘I’m leaving, don’t worry. You’re never going to see me again.’ That’s what the note said, and it was just left on an envelope on the table.” Morales said.
He says he doesn’t believe she left voluntarily but he does have a message for her.
“If she’s watching, I just hope she comes home. Not for me, but for my smallest, my little brother. I love her. She knows I can handle myself, that I’m grown but that doesn’t mean I love you less. We all love you,” Morales said.
