Traffic backed on I-10 Eastbound near Monterrey following 3 vehicle crash
Traffic is backed up on Interstate 10 eastbound near Monterrey Avenue in Palm Desert following a multiple vehicle collision. A red Mini Cooper crashed into a guardrail and sustained major damage. The driver of the Mini Cooper was transported by an ambulance to an area hospital.
The collision was reported at 9:29 a.m. this morning. Cal Fire is currently on the scene. One lane (lane number 1) is entirely closed. CHP is currently clearing additional debris that ended up in the westbound lanes.
Minor injuries have been reported.
