Driver injured after veering off overpass in Cabazon

A car veered off a freeway overpass in Cabazon today, causing moderate injuries to the driver, who had to be cut out of the wreckage.

Emergency personnel responded at 5:17 a.m. to a report that the vehicle came off the Seminole Drive overpass onto Apache Trail, according to April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The driver was found trapped inside their vehicle and required “extensive extrication,” Newman said. After being removed from the wreck, the victim was taken to a hospital and fire crews cleared the scene by 7:15 a.m.

Riverside County and Morongo firefighters responded to the crash.
