Man freed from overturned vehicle in McDonald’s drive-thru

Emergency crews responded to the scene of an overturned vehicle crash at a McDonald’s near the intersection of Varner Rd. and Washington Street in Palm Desert at 7:30 a.m. this morning.

California Highway Patrol says a car overturned and an older man was left trapped in the car.

Cal Fire arrived on the scene at 7:48 a.m.

The man appeared responsive after he was pulled from the wreckage and put in an ambulance.

The driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation. He sustained minor injuries.
