Car crashes and catches fire on Highway 74 south of Palm Desert
A car caught fire on Highway 74, south of Palm Desert, Wednesday morning, after the driver apparently lost control of the car, and crashed it off the side of the roadway.
It happened around 5:20 in the morning, near Vista Point.
The California Highway Patrol says no one was injured in the crash.
The name of the driver has not been released, and there is no word yet what caused the accident.
Traffic was stopped on Highway 74 in both directions, but lanes were re-opened by 7:45.
