FIND Food Bank kicks off Kids’ Summer Club with support of local business
With a focus on overall wellness and relaxation, GRACE the Health Studio in Palm Desert is owned by sisters Katie Juretich and Jodi Tudor. The local business owners hope to inspire their clients to stretch it out for a cause and give to FIND Food Bank this summer.
“We have a huge importance on making people feel good and making people thrive, and so if we can do that for anyone, even if they’re not in our studio, that’s ideal,” said Katie Juretich, co-owner of GRACE.
Over the next three months the studio will be hosting one donation yoga class a week to support FIND Food Bank’s Kids’ Summer Club, which feeds 6,000 children at 40 local distribution sites through the summer months when they won’t receive meals at school. Eighty percent of all local students currently qualify for free or reduced price lunches, according to FIND.
One of those distribution sites for Kids’ Summer Club is at Cesar Chavez Elementary School in Coachella, where the goal is to give out produce and staple items with dignity and fun. Martha Cota, a parent at the school, said the food she receives there is crucial in supporting her four children and extended family.
Those interested in attending the donation class at GRACE the Health Studio should visit their studio on Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. You can call (760) 340-6683 for more information. Classes begin in June and have no set cost, though the recommended donation is $15. All funds collected go to FIND Food Bank.
