Authorities identify woman killed in Cathedral City collision
The Riverside County Coroners Office identified a Perris woman Friday who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Thursday morning in Cathedral City.
Ruby Perez, 28, of Perris was struck by a motorist along the 68400 block of Ramon Road near Avenida Maravilla at 12:27 a.m.
Perez died at the scene.
Cathedral City Police say a preliminary investigation revealed Perez was crossing Ramon Road, in a crosswalk but during a green light for oncoming traffic when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with officers.
Cathedral City Police Traffic Investigators will submit their finding to the Riverside County District
Attorney’s Office for review as a part of protocol.
