Police investigate Desert Hot Springs shooting
Police were investigating a shooting in the area of northbound Palm Drive at Ironwood Drive Tuesday morning.
A department spokeswoman, Doria Wilms, said one person was shot.
Police on scene said the shooting happened at 6:05 a.m. during a fight between two individuals.
The injured was shot in the upper torso and taken to Desert Regional Medical Center. There was no update on his condition.
The suspect was still wanted. Police had no description of him.
North and southbound Palm Drive were closed to traffic just south of Ironwood Drive. The roadway was expected to be blocked off for several hours as police investigate, according to Wilms.
