Missing Morongo Valley woman’s vehicle found in New Mexico

Morongo Valley native Krista Bowman, 32, was last seen by her family on March 20, 2017, when she packed up her things into her Toyota Avalon and drove away from her mother’s house. She was heading to Colorado to meet her boyfriend. Her last known location was Fort Garland, Colorado

Krista’s family told KESQ & CBS Local 2’s Katie Widner in a report last year, that they were in regular contact with her until mid-April 2017. Those closest to Krista say the lack of communication from her is out of character.

“It’s really upsetting. That’s not usually like her. She’s usually calling, at least calling her daughter,” said Janna Smith, a friend who has known Krista her entire life.

Despite her families best efforts, for the past year, little has been uncovered in Krista’s disappearance. That all changed last month when her Toyota Avalon was found in an apartment complex in Taos, New Mexico.

The discovery has refueled her family’s desire for answers. They are now raising money on GoFundMe in hopes of hiring a private investigator or putting up a reward in hopes someone

“Either hire a private investigator or have a reward in hopes that somebody that knows something will come forward knowing that there is some type of reward. I almost feel that that’s the only way that some people will come forward– if they know there’s money involved,” said Rachel Brooks, Krista’s sister.

Krista is described as:

32 years old Sex: Female Race: White Eyes: Hazel Height: 5 ft. 7 in. Weight: 125 lbs
