CVAG to hold pop-up events to discuss East Valley pathway project
The Coachella Valley Association of Governments will host a pair of pop-up informative events in two Coachella Valley cities today to provide information and gather public input on a proposed transportation pathway through the Eastern Coachella Valley.
CVAG’s Arts and Music Line is a proposed 10-mile walking and biking pathway that will primarily run along Avenue 48 through the cities of La Quinta, Indio and Coachella.
CVAG says the path will connect users to various destinations
throughout the desert, including the Bear Creek Trail, Spotlight 29 Casino and CVAG’s major CV Link project, the still-under construction transportation pathway slated to span the entire Coachella Valley.
The path is so named for its goal of providing pedestrians and cyclists with safe access to the annual music and arts festivals hosted at Indio’s Empire Polo Grounds.
Residents are encouraged today to attend two information sessions in Coachella and La Quinta, where they can discuss the project with CVAG staff and fill out a survey regarding the project. The pop-up events will be held at 9 a.m. in Coachella at Rancho Las Flores Park, 48400 Van Buren Street, and 4 p.m. in Old Town La Quinta, 78100 Main Street.
A third event will be held in Indio at 4 p.m. Saturday at Maclin’s Open Air Market, 46350 Arabia Street.
