RSO unit involved in single vehicle crash in La Quinta

A single-vehicle crash in La Quinta involving a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department unit left one person injured early Saturday morning. According to RSO, the crash happened around the intersection of Ave. 50 and Washington St. just before 4:30 a.m.

Deputies said the Sheriff’s department vehicle crashed into a palm tree. The driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Deputies said the avoid the intersection for the next couple of hours due to an ongoing investigation.

According to our crew at the scene, Ave. 50 was closed between Washington St. and Moon River Dr. in both directions. Deputies say the roads reopened at around 8 a.m.
