Man arrested after allegedly stabbing mother in Twentynine Palms
William Bassine was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his mother at a residence in Twentynine Palms.
According to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the 5600 block of Daisy Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The first arriving deputies found a woman, Susan Turnbaugh, outside the residence, with a single stab wound to her upper back. She was transported to Desert Regional medical center with a non-life threatening wound.
Deputies were told that her William stabbed his mother during an argument. William then threw the knife at his brother, Wayne, causing a superficial wound to Wayne’s arm.
After over an hour of refusing commands to exit the residence, William was taken into custody without further incident, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He has been booked at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. His bail was set at $100,000.00.
