Operation Narco Navigator leads to 11 arrests, 16 indictments in Coachella

There was an early morning wake up call at two locations in Coachella Wednesday morning. Law enforcement from several different agencies surrounded an apartment complex on Frederick Street just after 6:00 a.m. They were later spotted outside a home on Avenida Aleenah Street also in Coachella.

The raids, part of Operation Narco Navigator, were spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Agency, and were complete with the U.S. Border Patrol, and several other local law enforcement agencies.

16 indictments were handed down for various drug charges and 10 arrests were made during the raids.

The sudden massive police presence in the relatively quiet Coachella neighborhood came as a surprise to local residents.

“Did you feel scared? Yeah a little bit,” said Antonio Osoroio, a neighborhood resident.” Usually, I don’t see too many cops here no.”
