Recent La Quinta HS grad Wadlund qualifies for BMX US Open Finals

Last summer John Wadlund was the youngest and final person to earn a spot in the BMX US Open from Huntington Beach.

The 17-year-old incoming La Quinta High school senior at the time turned heads by finishing 22nd in what is considered one of the biggest professional events in the world.

This year he again qualified for the event and advanced to the finals after a 22nd place finish in Friday’s semifinals. Wadlund will compete Sunday and Cody Krupp will have the update in sports.
