5 people arrested in connection to shooting in Anza
Five people have been arrested following a double shooting in Anza on Thursday.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon in the 54500 block of Moraza Road around 3:15 p.m. This is in an unincorporated area of Anza near Contreras Road and Long Way.
Two men, suffering from gunshot wounds, were found at the scene and were airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. One was in critical condition, but officials said the other man’s injuries were non-life threatening. Neither man has been identified and no update on their conditions has been provided.
The suspects allegedly fled the scene. Responding deputies saw a vehicle that matched the description leaving the scene, according to a release. The deputies followed the vehicle to a home in the 200 block of South State Street in Hemet. The Hemet Police Department responded to assist. During an ensuing investigation, investigators served a search warrant at the home and collected evidence that linked multiple people to the shooting in Anza.
The following suspects were transported and booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta for the following charges:
