Coachella Valley mid-term election races finalized

Seven of the Coachella Valley’s nine cities will have elections this November. In Cathedral City and Indio’s case, this will be the first time both cities will have district elections.

The deadline to file was last Friday, but some cities had extensions until Wednesday of this week.

The cities of Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, and La Quinta will also be electing mayors. In Desert Hot Springs there are two measures that could change how the mayor seat, a revolving council or the Mayor with longer terms.

The only cities not having city-wide elections this fall is Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.
