4.4 & 3.4 magnitude earthquakes shake Coachella Valley

Two small to moderate earthquakes shook the Coachella Valley Tuesday evening, the United States Geological Survey confirmed.

According to the USGS, both earthquakes were reported within seconds of one another at 7:33 p.m.

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake was reported at 7:33:28 p.m. Less than a minute later at 7:34:17 p.m., a 3.4 magnitude earthquake followed. Both were centered just north of La Verne, 80 miles west of Palm Springs. The quakes were felt across a wide area of southern California.

We received several reports of people feeling the larger quake from residents in many cities throughout the Coachella Valley, High Desert, and the western parts of Riverside County.

There were no reports of any injuries or structural damage.
