Valleywide Employment Expo today
Job seekers will be filing in at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino when the 23rd annual Valleywide Employment Expo kicks off. Many local businesses with openings will be there.
Things are expanding at Renova Energy, with the renewable energy industry growing in the country. That means more job opportunities.
“I started back in January 2015, we had somewhere 60 to 65 employees and now we’re up to 160 and continuing to grow,” Aaron Gamez, HR manager for Renova Energy, said.
He says the company’s growth has made him busy searching for qualified candidates for new positions. That would mean casting a wide net.
“We’re expanding and this is a great opportunity for Renova to partner with the Valleywide Expo and find brand new employee partners,” he said.
Gamez says this is the first time the company is appearing at the Valley Wide Employment Expo, joining over 90 companies looking to hire. Expo organizers say over 5,000 people attend.
“With that pool of people, there has to be the right talent there. There just has to be,” he said.
Gamez says the company is looking to push the number of employees to 200 with open positions such as installers and administrative work.
“So we’re looking for applicants that are passionate, that want to grow with the company or want to grow their skill set,” he said.
With the immense number of potential applicants, Gamez says to stand out to any employer, do your research.
“Why do you want to work for our company, and know what your goals are in our company and let your employer know that or you’ll be another name in the stack, and you don’t want to be that,” he said.
It’s advice that Gamez hopes gets used by potential co-workers.
The expo will kick off Thursday at 9 a.m.
