At 8:30 a.m., the high school enacted its lockdown protocol after two students overheard another student stating that a shooting would take place today. The two students reported to a school administrator, who then made the decision to put the school in lockdown.

Torro Canyon Middle School and Las Palmitas Elementary School, which are both in the area of the high school, were put in a lockout.
Sheriff deputies are currently searching for the student who made the threat, who is now believed to be off-campus
A California Highway Patrol helicopter assisted in the search.
