Angela Chen joins News Channel 3 in the Morning as co-anchor
Gulf California Broadcast Company is proud to announce Angela Chen will join News Channel 3 in the Morning as co-anchor. News Channel 3 in the Morning airs Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Angela will join long-time anchor and I-Team Investigator Jeff Stahl on the anchor desk of Coachella Valley’s number one rated newscast in December. In addition, Angela will report on a variety of stories that will air on News Channel 3 and KESQ.com.
Angela brings more than a decade of journalistic experience, having reported and anchored in several California cities and most recently, in Houston, Texas. She is an alumna of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She attended the University of California, San Diego for her undergraduate degree. Angela is currently an Adjunct Professor at University of Southern California. She now lives in the Coachella Valley.

For decades, KESQ News Channel 3, has led the Palm Springs television market in every newscast with award-winning journalism and a dedication to being the Coachella Valley’s number one source for breaking news and investigative reports. Adding Angela to the news team with her experience as a freelance journalist for The New York Times, reporter for two Houston television network affiliates, a network affiliate in Reno, and New York 1, further demonstrates KESQ’s dedication to the Coachella Valley.

Angela looks forward to continuing to champion child literacy and becoming an animal advocate in the Coachella Valley. In her personal time, she loves spending time with her husband and their two dogs. She is a certified scuba diver. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Angela looks for any opportunity to engage in conversation. When you have the opportunity to speak with her, don’t be surprised if she turns the conversation toward her hunt for the perfect burrito.
