Man arrested after DUI crash in Rancho Mirage

A man was arrested Saturday morning for driving while under the influence of alcohol after Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two vehicle traffic collision at Monterey Avenue and Gerald Ford Drive in Rancho Mirage.

Deputies said the driver, Kevalyn Bharadwas, 23, of Torrance was driving a white SUV southbound on Monterey Avenue when he collided with a semi-truck. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision, but during the investigation it was determined that Bharadwas showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Bharadwas was arrested and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Once treated, he was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
