UPDATE: All lanes reopen on I-10 after Monterey Ave police activity

All lanes on I-10 are now open.

At around 10 a.m. this morning all eastbound and westbound lanes were closed on the interstate due to police activity near the Monterey Avenue overpass in Palm Desert. Traffic was backed up as far as the Washington Street exit to the east, and as far as Bob Hope Drive to the west, according to Caltrans.

Cal Fire, American Medical Response, and deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department are on the scene. Monterey Avenue is northbound toward the Varner Road and southbound toward Dinah Shore Drive is also shut down in the area of the activity.
