Suspect found dead following mass shooting

The suspect who allegedly opened fire inside a Thousand Oaks bar late Wednesday night has been found dead.

Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said the suspect was found dead inside the Borderline Bar and Grill after wounding at least 12 people, including a deputy.

It’s unclear how the suspect died, but authorities believe there’s no threat to the public now.

The shooting happened late Wednesday night as authorities responded to reports of shots fired just after midnight Thursday morning.

The Associated Press reported that at least 30 shots were fired inside the Thousand Oaks bar. Deputies haven’t released information on the condition of the victims or the injured deputy.
