Fatal Palm Springs crash leaves two dead, two injured

Two people were killed and two were injured when a vehicle crashed into a tree in Palm Springs Saturday night, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 10:24 p.m. in the area of Francis Drive and North Farrell Drive, police said.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Two other occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospitals, one in critical condition and one in serious condition.

No word on the identity of the victims.

The intersection was closed while Palm Springs police and the Riverside County coroner’s office investigated the crash.

According to Palm Springs Police, the intersection reopened to traffic around 5:15 Sunday morning.
