TRAFFIC ALERT: Palm Springs road reopens after closure

Police shut down Ramon Road between Calle Encilia and Calle Ajo early Wednesday morning due to a traffic collision and police investigation there. The road was reopened by 6:00 a.m.

The collision happened shortly after 3:00 a.m.

Palm Springs Police say a police pursuit entered the City of Palm Springs as Cathedral City Police tried to stop a motorist for a traffic violation.

Police say the fleeing motorist struck another car, then the female driver tried to run away.

Officers apprehended the suspect driver within minutes.

Injuries were reported, but there’s no word yet on their severity.

A smashed up vehicle was at the scene, and police vehicles were blocking both sides of Ramon Road near Baristo Park.

Palm Springs Police Officers were referring further questions about the collision to the Cathedral City Police Department.
