Pair arrested in Cathedral City for package theft
A man and a woman are in police custody after an off-duty police officer spotted the couple who stole a package from a home on the 32500 block of Shifting Sands Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Cathedral City Police say the off-duty officer followed the suspects when they left the scene.
Police were able to arrest the man and woman a short time later for theft and conspiracy.
The package was returned to the family. Police say the package contained heart medicine for a 15 year old boy, who recently underwent heart surgery.
